Margate, NJ - The clients wanted a contemporary, airy design that conveyed the essence of summer at the shore and william mclees architecture certainly captured the feel, with an evocative collection of forms and spacious living areas, including 10 foot ceilings on the first floor and a vaulted 2 story living room with glazed clerestory at the top. The living areas are complimented by a sweeping ipe deck and built-in bench seating that wraps the east side of the home, situated on a double lot on Jasper Avenue. The exterior is a collection of materials from cedar to metal tile to vast glazed openings. The interior follows suit with tile floors, glass and wood doors. The kitchen provides a focal point on the living level with glass mosaic tile, stainless steel counters, contemporary pendant fixtures and red lacquer cabinetry.
